40 round Reduced National Match Rifle Course
Event
Competitors will fire 40 rounds during 4 separate stages of fire from distances of 100 to 200 yards using approved NRA 100 yards and 200 yards reduced targets, at the prescribed distances. Range commands will follow current edition of Civilian Marksmanship Program Rules at http://www.thecmp.org.
Purpose
· Promote good sportsmanship and firearms safety through competition.
· Provide a structured venue for competitors to improve their marksmanship skills.
Individual Registration (match sigh-up)
· Match registration begins approximately one hour before first relay begins firing.
· Each shooter must register (sign-up) in person.
· Matches at Southern Michigan will start firing at 9:00am. Registration closes at 10:30am.
· Matches at Adams will start firing at 9:00am. Registration closes at 11:00am.
· No third relay will be fired unless the second relay is completely filled.
Fees
· League fee is $15 per shooter per season, paid at the shooter’s first match of the season.
· Match fee is $5 per senior shooter per match ($1 per match for junior shooters), paid during match registration.
· All match fees can be pre-paid at the start of the season. All fees for matches not fired will be refunded at the end of the season.
· All fees should be paid to the League Treasurer. Any checks should be made payable to the “Toledo High Power Rifle League”.
Team Operation
· Each team must have a team captain. Team captains must be declared at registration during the first match.
· New shooters may declare their team affiliation at the beginning of a season, before their first match is fired.
· Undeclared shooters will be assigned to a team by the statistics officer during registration at their first match.
· League shooters with prior team affiliation may change their team affiliation at the beginning of the season with the agreement of team captains affected.
· Shooters may not change teams' mid-season.
Equipment requirements
· All rifles, ammunition, and equipment used during TAHPRL Match events must be in accordance with the latest CMP Competition Rules for Service or Match Rifle. A complete listing of rules and match procedures can be found at http://www.thecmp.org.
· Rifles must be chambered for centerfire cartridges between .223 and .30 caliber equivalents.
· Service and Match Rifles with either iron or optical sights as specified by the CMP Rules.
Conduct of match
Sighters
· Position: Any
· Task: Competitors will be given a 3-minute preparation period, and 5 minutes to single load to zero in their rifle.
Stage 1 – Slow Fire Standing
· Range: 100 yards SR-1 Target or 200 yards SR Target.
· Position: Standing.
· Shots: 10 shots for record.
· Timing: 10 minutes for record.
· Task: Competitors will be given a 3-minute preparation period, and 10 minutes to single load and fire 10 record shots.
Stage 2 – Rapid Fire Sitting
· Range: 100 yards SR-1 Target or 200 yards SR Target.
· Position: Sitting from either remaining in Position or from Standing.
· Shots: 10 for record that includes a magazine change; magazines will be loaded with 2 and 8 rounds. The two round magazine will be fired first.
· Timing: 60 seconds.
· Task: Competitors will be given a 3-minute preparation period, and 60 seconds to fire 10 record shots including a magazine change.
Stage 3 – Rapid Fire Prone
· Range: 100 yards SR-21 Target or 200 yards RS-42 Target.
· Position: Prone from either remaining in Position or from Standing; magazines MAY NOT be rested on the ground for support during this stage.
· Shots: 10 for record that includes a magazine change; magazines will be loaded with 2 and 8 rounds. The two round magazine will be fired first.
· Timing: 70 seconds.
· Task: Competitors will be given a 3-minute preparation period, and 70 seconds to fire 10 record shots including a magazine change.
Stage 4 – Slow Fire Prone
· Range: 100 yards MR-31 Target or 200 yards MR-52 Target.
· Position: Prone; magazines MAY NOT be rested on the ground during this stage.
· Shots: 10 shots for record.
· Timing: 10 minutes for record.
· Task: Competitors will be given a 3-minute preparation period, and 20 minutes to single load and fire 10 record shots.
